solutions designed by nature

Our foundation

We have simple values.

Integrity. Gratitude. Relationships.

We believe that a desire for knowledge, dialogue and creativity brings people together to solve our most pressing challenges. We’ve proven that solutions exist, even for modern day ‘wicked’ problems - where natural capital meets human ingenuity.

We see Canada as a nation poised to harness this bounty and take our place in the emerging world reality, as a global influencer. And we’re fortunate to work for the people on the frontlines, to be a part of that future.

We established Rockland Canada Management Corporation in 2025 to provide ecologically based policy and business expertise for clients who want to innovate, pivot and thrive in Canada’s natural resource sector.

Natural resource industries in Canada face formidable challenges. Remaining agile to evolving knowledge. Advancing science to operations. Making innovative decisions. Keeping up with rapidly changing regulatory environments. Optimizing internal productivity and external competitiveness. Pivoting amidst geopolitical uncertainty.

Decades of studying, observing, recreating, living and working in terrestrial and marine ecosystems in British Columbia, Canada, has led us to learn not only about the systems themselves. There are elements in natural systems that tell a deeper story. Natural patterns in nature reveal solutions honed over time, sometimes shaped by necessity. Or scarcity. Competition. Efficiency. Adaptation. Connectedness. Facilitation. Hierarchies. Scale. Change. Interactions. Feedbacks. Amplification.

How alike, our modern world?

What parallels are there between the design of solutions in nature, and our present-day challenges?

With proven success at building, connecting and deploying knowledge capital; finding David-sized fixes to Goliath-sized problems; and bringing improbable outcomes to fruition - at Rockland Canada Management Corporation, we turn difficult problems into elegant solutions.
